Billing Information

Doctors working in this centre have adopted a blended approach to private and bulk billing fees to ensure all patients have equitable access to the quality healthcare they deserve and need. The standard consultation is $60, but individual GP consultation fees may vary. We accept cash, credit card (not Diners or AMEX) & EFTPOS payments.

We bulk bill children under 16 years of age, pension and health care card holders. All chronic care plans are bulk billed and any lesion removals.

Please bring your Medicare card and any of the above cards with you on each visit.

If your visit concerns Worker’s Compensation or Motor Vehicle Accident Claim, please let the receptionist know each time you come.

Medicare does not allow some items to be claimed from them. These include pre–employment, school and superannuation medicals and any matter for which you intend to claim damages.

 Management of Patient Health Information

Telephone policy – receiving and returning telephone calls

Most issues are best dealt with in consultation with your GP and they will endeavour to take your call where practicable. At times, your GP may be attending to other patients and may need to return your call. Please inform our reception staff is your call is urgent.

Follow-up of Test Results

As test results are not discussed over the phone, we require our patients to make an appointment with their doctor to discuss results. However, if a test result comes back as clinically significant, we will endeavour to contact the patient and have them seen by the doctor as soon as possible.

  Patient Rights

As a patient of health care services, you have certain rights and responsibilities. Centre staff and doctors are committed to ensure your rights are met and that they play a supportive role in you participating in decisions about your health care.

Engaging with Other Services and Referrals

Chisham Avenue Medical Centre regularly engages with other local health services, such as specialists, allied health and hospitals. If required, your Doctor will provide sufficient information (referral letter) to plan and facilitate optimal patient care.

Patient Recalls

As a valued Patient, you will be automatically enrolled in the Recall System, to ensure you receive relevant health information and pertinent reminders relating to your health such as vaccine updates or screening services. Please advise us if you would prefer not to receive this information or reminders.

Disability Facilities

We have two disabled parking bays at the front of the Medical Centre.

Toilet Facilities, please ask our Practice Nurse and she will direct you to the disabled toilets.
